An anonymous representative for NetEase, the company that publishes Onmyoji, told DAPP.com that "the game's development team is doing their best to finalize a global version that can be enjoyed by players around the world." However, they also hinted at possible further delays, stating that "due to certain technical difficulties and other factors beyond our control, we might not be able to release the game as soon as we initially planned."

This would not be the first time that Onmyoji has seen a delay in its international rollout. The game was originally slated for a global release in late 2016, but was eventually pushed back to early 2017.
